Launch and run tests
Start, schedule, pause, end, and declare winners.
Launch and run tests
Start your experiment and begin collecting data
Once your test is created, variants are set, and previews look correct, you’re ready to launch.
Starting the experiment
Find your experiment in Draft.
Click Play, or open the test and click Start.
Status changes to Running.
Visitors will immediately start getting assigned to groups.
Scheduling for later (Pro plan)
Open the three-dot menu on your Draft experiment.
Status shows Scheduled until it starts.
What happens when a test goes live
New visitors are assigned to groups based on your traffic weights.
Assignments are stored via cookie.
Events are tracked automatically.
Results populate within minutes.
How long should you run your test?
Aim for 100–200 unique visitors per group.
Wait for the statistical significance indicator before deciding.
Ending too early is the most common mistake.
Pausing, ending, and winners
Pause — stops new assignments. Keeps data. You can resume.
End — closes the experiment permanently. It cannot be restarted.
Declare Winner — ends the experiment and locks the winner. It cannot be undone.
After declaring a winner
AB Genius does not apply changes automatically.
Implement the winner manually in Shopify.
This is intentional.
AB Genius runs experiments and provides data.
Permanent changes are yours to ship.
